BRO-HOOF

snazzy beat, smooth intro, you keep it lively all the way

Quickly! We must alert Equestria Daily! :D

MSXOmega responds:

It was actually posted there a while ago :P

Thanks for the review!

Lovecraftian horror

That's what I think of when I listen to this.
That and an emerging Singularity; Eldritch horrors are not the only things in the world that bring man to madness

Sah; I LOVE this piece
please say that you eventually finished it but just forgot to upload it D:
I LOVE this stuff

Rig responds:

Sowwy, I didn't finish it. :C

I don't even know if I have the project file on hand anymore.

Cheer up chap...

Most of us blokes with brains don't comment, rate, or anything; we just download what we like.

This is because we're picky, and we wade through a lot of songs, and don't want to take the time to stop and point out all the things we like or dislike.

You aren't alone, it's just that all the people like you and I FEEL alone because we just don't talk to the folks we should who are right beside us already.

Gud song, gud sah.
Gud day to ye.

JinNJuice responds:

I already figured there are hundreds of songs every day. I just feel lonely.

Wow.

There are SO MANY parts of this that could be used and sampled for... oh man.
IT LOOPS TOO! 8D

There are no words for this.

It's just amazing.

GodSpeedIam responds:

I'm glad you think so.

This was one of those rare 'single insturment' pieces that I thought was actually diverse enough to be interesting. The cresendo of extra slobber at the end really gets your pulse pounding.

Thank you for the kind review.

Not too bad...

Many people try,
many people fall.
Best advice for the new fry
is don't drop the ball.

It takes a lot of practice to get good, so try as many different things as you can. Do your best not to overuse samples (the "HEY!" in particular got old very quickly). If you use something at the beginning, and then bring in again at the end (as you did with the intro voice), that's fine. It often works well.

You already have a reasonable enough grasp of how to use the software, you're not going MAD WITH DRUMS RAAAAAAAGH, you aren't using annoying buzzing sounds... Hey, you've got a good start.

Keep working on tunes, try using as many different sounds as you can (while keeping the feel of the song), and experiment. Everything doesn't have to be catchy your first year or so, but JUST KEEP DOING STUFF. That's the only way.

I failed because although I could create catchy tunes, I couldn't dedicate enough time to keep on working on more tunes. Don't make that mistake!

THEICONICICON responds:

thanks man i apprreciate it!!!!!!!

AND GOOD MORNING TO YOU TOO GOOD SIR!

Composition is fairly good, good use maybe one or two small parts with more speed for some flavour, but otherwise is good.

The song overall is just a bit TOO LOUD. Try lowering the master volume, and then the bass too, just a little bit.

This piece is actually pretty catchy, but the first synth in the beginning is lame. SPICE DAT UP SON! : D
The second synth is better, but could use more feel. Make more grungy maybe...
Third synth is WONKY. Try using a different module there, something completely different.
Fourth; meh, that one's fine.
Fifth is TOO LOUD. D: Tweak it a bit, make each synth sound distinct from the others.

IS NOT SO BAD.
POTENTIAL IS IN THE AIR.
GOOD LUCK SIR, THE PORTAL CAN BE BRUTAL.

Snooglebum responds:

Wow, someone actually providing constructive criticism! I am shocked.

Yeah, most people who've heard it agree that the bass drum is too loud.

Thanks for the review!

A new challenger appears!

First NG audio submission, and it sounds good. 15 minute mix? Sir, you have a future that is considerably brighter than my LCD monitor on full brightness.

Its reminescent of Frank Klepacki's work in C&C Renegade, or any decent FPS (while Renegade was garbage, Klepacki's music is always good).

This song would mesh very well with almost any modern FPS game, and has a professional sound to it. I subtract one point only because songs that work well in a game are not always pleasant to listen to outside of the game.

Ignore that, however, its a sad necessity.

For what you made the song for, it is perfect. Flawless.

Keep up the groove bro; you've got it made.
The only thing I would suggest for improvement would be to up the guitar a wee bit. You did an excellent job by making the song gritty, but not too gritty (otherwise it makes the listener's muscles tense, which you would only want for a few parts of the game, and for no more than 4 minutes). Just a wee bit more 'WAAAGH!' would be nice, but only for a memoriable piece. Not every tune in a game can be memoriable, so meh.

Keep it up.

Lord-Emikol responds:

Well thank you for the response I never figured someone would find my old, first submission. I myself had lost track of my login information and have been unable to upload anything from 2005.

Although I'm sure that this would be better suited in an animation I have never tinkered with Flash but I have used this in some other projects.

Anyway, thank you for the input I appreciate it.

Interesting...

The song as a whole I think is quite interesting. While not particularly catchy, atleast to me, its evident that you put a lot of time and effort into this. That I admire.

I'd love to hear more, but maybe for your next song, plan a few little melodies in your head before you begin, and make sure they're really catchy. With the quality of work you're doing, I'm sure you'll have a hit on your hands!

MCMA responds:

Thanks, Dead Dude. Yeah, I might try that.
